Questions & Answers
We just got engaged, when should we start working on the invitations?
As soon as you have a date and a venue, it’s time to get started. The earlier, the better. We recommend reaching out to us at least 8 weeks before you plan to send them out, and most couples send their invitations around 6 months before the wedding. If you are getting married in summer or close to major holidays, we recommend sending invitations or a save the date 8–12 months in advance, so your guests don’t fill their calendars before your big day.
Can we order invitations in languages other than Danish?
Yes, of course. We have printed invitations in everything from French to Farsi. As long as you provide the correct wording, we will make sure it is beautifully typeset and printed.
I can’t find prices on your website, how much do your invitations cost?
A fair question. But just as every design we create is unique, so is the price. We don’t have a price list, since no two projects are alike. To give you an idea, most couples invest around DKK 15,000 in their invitations, while many spend more depending on materials and level of detail. The price reflects the unique design, the quality of the materials, and the time and craftsmanship behind it. If you have specific wishes or a budget you would like to stay within, we are happy to guide you on what is possible.
We are having three different menus (vegetarian, fish, and meat) for our anniversary, how do we handle that?
That is no problem. We have done this many times. We simply print the number of versions you need. All we require is the final guest list with menu choices, and we will take care of the rest.
We are getting married in Mallorca, do you ship internationally?
Absolutely. We have sent Papirlykke creations all over the world. Shipping costs and delivery times depend on where you are, but we will make sure everything arrives safely at your destination.
Can you also help us mail the invitations to our guests?
Yes. Just give us your guest list, and we will handle the rest. You can relax and look forward to the guests’ reactions as the invitations land in their mailboxes.
Do you really design and print everything yourselves?
Yes. All design and printing is done in our own atelier, including on our vintage Heidelberg press. Our own eyes and hands are on every single detail, which is the only way we can ensure the quality we demand.
I have noticed some of your designs feature illustrations. What kind of illustrations can we choose from?
We don’t have a catalogue. If you want an illustration, we hand-draw it especially for you. Some couples choose an illustration of their wedding venue, others a favorite flower. It is entirely up to you. Tell us what you dream of, and we will make it happen.
We love your style. Can we order the design only, without printing?
In most cases, yes. But we prefer to handle both design and printing, as that allows us to control the quality from start to finish.
My sister is a graphic designer and has created our invitation design, can you print it?
As a rule, we only print our own designs. That is partly because not all designs are suitable for letterpress and often need adjustments. We will never print anything that does not meet our standards. But let us have a look, and we will assess whether it can work.
Can we have our own custom monogram with our initials?
Yes, absolutely. We love creating personal monograms and symbols that reflect you as a couple. They can appear across all your stationery, from invitations to menus, place cards, and seating charts.
If we order invitations, menus, place cards, and thank-you cards, do you offer a discount?
We don’t. But we also never compromise on quality. What you invest in is the finest materials, expertise, time, and careful craftsmanship. Ask yourselves what matters most: price, or stationery that feels meaningful, memorable, and truly yours. If price is the main priority, we might not be the right match. But if you want something special with real emotional value, we promise you an excellent return on investment, not in saved money but in the joy and admiration of your guests.
